INTERNATIONAL CHILDREN'S CHESS GAMES

REGULATIONS

Official name of tournament: „International children's chess games Vojvodina 2007
Official organizers:

Tournament Date: August 18th- August 26th, 2007.

Participation right: Right to participate have children from all countries of the world in teams with maximum of 6 players + one coach/escort. All players must be under 16 years old (children born in 1991. and younger).
Organizer can approve additional number of competitors for certain selections from the host country.

Accommodation:
All participants will be settled in a hotel in Novi Sad on a full board basis – details will be determined subsequently.
Arrival dates: August 17th and August 18 st 2007 till 12h.
Departure date: August 27th 2007.

Costs of accommodation:
Organizers will bear expenses of accommodation for the first 20 registered federations for 3 (three) players and 1 (one) coach.

If country participant has more than 3 players and coaches it is obligated to pay costs of accommodation for every player over 3 and for additional coach. The price of accommodation will be announced subsequently.
Every country participant registered after the first 20 will pay expenses of accommodation for all it's members.

Travel expenses:
Competitors will bear travel expenses to the Belgrade airport. Organizer will provide transportation from the Belgrade airport to Novi Sad for the first 20 federations. Other federations will have to pay transport costs from Belgrade airport to Novi Sad in amount of 20 EURO for both directions.

Technical regulations of tournament:

  1. FIDE rules applied
  2. System of competition: Swiss system, 9 rounds
  3. Rate of play: 1 hour 30 minutes per each player for first 40 moves, with additional 30 minutes for the rest of the game.
  4. One round per day. Organizer reserve the right to organize two rounds per one day, so players could get free day.
  5. All other technical details are stated in attached Rules of the Games and will be announced at the technical conference of tournament which will take place at August 18th 2007 in the playing hall at 12 a.m. with the presence of arbiters, organizers and Heads of teams (representatives of players).
  6. Tournament is unique for boys and girls and individual standing is determined separately for boys and separately for girls.
  7. Team standings are determined based on results of 3 players from each team (boys and girls together). If one federation has more than three players, for team points three best results from that country (team) will be taken.
  8. Players of the same federation do not play each other.
  9. The players will be able to gain rating and titles according to the rules and regulations of FIDE.
  10. Tournament table will include only those participants that come or whose official representatives confirm their participation at the technical conference on August 18 th 2007 at 12 a.m.
  11. Opening ceremony will be organized on August 18 th 2007 . (The time and place will be determined later). The first round will start right after the opening ceremony. The other rounds (from round 2 to round 8) will start at 4 p.m. every day. The last round will start at 10 a.m.

 

Prizes:

Organizers guarantee and provide following prizes:

  1. Three prizes for best results for boys:
    I prize 300 EURO (for I place)
    II prize 200 EURO (for II place)
    III prize 100 EURO (for III place) 
  2. Three prizes for best results for girls:
    I prize 300 EURO (for I place)
    II prize 200 EURO (for II place)
    III prize 100 EURO (for III place) 
  3. Three prizes for best team result:
    I prize 1.000 EURO (for I place)
    II prize 700 EURO (for II place)
    III prize 500 EURO (for III place) 

Total prize fond is 3.400 EURO. 

Special prizes
Special gifts and rewards for all competitor. Also every child that takes part in this competition and has standing at the final tournament table will receive a present from organizer of tournament BB MINAQUA.

Note:

For all competitors from countries where visa is necessary for entrance in Serbia, it is required to send copies of passports for each member (the page with picture and official data) by fax or e-mail not later than July 01 st 2007, so organizer could start the procedure of providing visas.

Remark 

This is the third time that Novi Sad and BB Minaqua are organizing International Children's Chess Games Vojvodina 2005, 2006, 2007. Last year we had participants from 18 countries all over the world (Bulgaria, Cuba, Turkey, Greece, Tunisia, Russia, Kenya, Moldova, Macedonia, Romania, Slovenia, Slovakia, Switzerland, Algeria, Croatia, Afghanistan, Bosnia & Herzegovina and Serbia and Montenegro).

By the idea of organizer, this tournament will be organized every year in Novi Sad and it will become traditional competition “International Children's Chess Games”
